On the weekend, myself and a bunch of friends from the Toronto area and other parts of Ontario traveled down to Washington DC for Katsucon! It was honestly the best convention that I have EVER attended. I'm not certain whether it's because everything was completely new and awesome, or it was actually the best. I think it was just the best. Period. lol

The venue was gorgeous. Like, breathtakingly beautiful. The cosplays were STUNNING. I mean, the amount of talent that was in that building was crazy. The World Cosplay Summit American preliminaries were being held that weekend, so naturally, the best of the best of the USA were there. My friend and I wanted to enter as Queen Serenity and Princess Serenity, but were refused because we are Canadian.... SO not impressed that Canada doesn't have a division... or even allowed to participate in the US division. Oh well. In the future hopefully Canada will have its own category, and we will be even better by that time!

I honestly traveled with the best people. ~UzumakiRamen-chan, ~zacloudseth, ~lightpriestess, ~HexReedfly, *vickybunnyangel, *alucardleashed, *Naiiki and Acksonl were the best company a girl could ask for. We all had a blast, and it was a pleasure hanging out and getting to know you all better! <3

So I suppose here is when I begin talking about the awesome things that happened on the weekend.

Thursday night the whole group I mentioned up there met up downtown Toronto so we could grab the Megabus to the States. It was THE longest bus ride ever... 13 hours to be exact. At least it was over night so we could sleep through most of the ride. However, that's only if we COULD sleep. ~lightpriestess was entertaining to watch play Ocarina of Time for the first time, while ~zacloudseth, ~UzumakiRamen-chan, and I shared an awesome blanket fort. Once the excitement and fun on the bus died down, sleep took over for most of the group.  ~zacloudsethand I were up for the majority of the trip actually. We just couldn't sleep, so we chatted quietly amongst ourselves while the others were passed out lol.

Friday morning we arrived downtown Washington DC, made our way to the hotel, met up with our other room mates ~mnemosyneforgot, and ~theVincentLove and got changed into our cosplays for the day! ~UzumakiRamen-chan and I rocked our Panty and Stocking again, which was a blast! I had made a surprise new outfit that I was overly excited to wear, so we had a lot of fun being in character for that day and exploring the con for the first time. We spotted *Ex-Shadow in his ABSOLUTELY FUCKING AMAZING Vash the Stampede cosplay, and his wife *Malindachan in her wicked Yusei cosplay.... UR-Chan and I had major fangirl moments. Thank god they didn't see us blubbering like the idiots that we are. Both of us regret not going to talk to them. I probably would have just been like ASFSDFSDA...DSAFASH A..FUUUGHH.. Uuummmmm.... around Ex-Shadow and UR-Chan would have done the same around Malindachan. We are such losers. haha

Later on that evening, she and I went back to the con out of costume to explore and take in a panel or two. She had been keeping in touch with Kyle Hebert, a voice actor, for a while before the con, so we went to his Dragonball Evolution roast. Because of her connection, we got VIP access and advanced seating. LOL we could feel the burn of everyone's eyes behind us as we skipped the line and went in with Kyle. That was something REALLY cool. haha. Plus, Neither of us had seen the movie before, so we figured this would be the best way to do so. hahaha

Saturday was bloody amazing. UR-Chan and I cosplayed Princess and Queen Serenity. HUGE cosplay dreams came true wearing them. omg. We looked awesome. Not gonna lie. We rocked it. Our costumes were so well received, and we were even asked if we were competing in the World Cosplay Summit!! A couple of the judges thought our costumes were really nice, along with some quite well known cosplayers who thought the same. We had many fangirly moments that day.
Saturday night was the rave, so A bunch of us decided to try and get in. It didn't really look like it was worth it, so  ~zacloudseth buggered off and did our own thing for an hour or so until the others came out of the rave. Many good times were had! We all then just went back to the hotel and crashed for the night.

Sunday was pretty chill. UR-Chan and I cosplayed Roy Mustang and Psiren from Fullmetal Alchemist. I got told a few times that I was the only Psiren cosplayer that people have ever seen, which was pretty cool. She's a cool character, i'm surprised there aren't more cosplays of her to be honest! I was rather uncomfortable in the costume, so I just wanted to change out of it ASAP. Therefore, there aren't many pictures of that cosplay at all. OH WELL. I still have my progress shots that I could upload until I can do a real photo shoot as her.

The Monday, UR-Chan and I were tourists around Washington DC and had loads of fun going to a bunch of museums and monuments. The White House is so gorgeous! Sad we couldn't get a tour of the inside though... they were all booked up, sadly. OH WELL!

So yeah, TL;DR. KATSUCON WAS AMAZING AND I LOVE MY FRIENDS!!! <3 I Miss you all so much already, lol let's do this again real soon!
